Yes.
But both are about whether it appears in the output. Current situation
is fine with me. Maybe also, having it one after another makes it
clearer that "Invert Inset" is about the branch feature, whereas I agree
that, alone, it would be too vague.
I would say that ✔ should stand for "this particular inset is active".
Instead of ¬, which is not universally understood (my first idea was !,
which is not better), what about striking out the branch name?
I think the solution is just to spell out "not" instead of ¬, i.e
bformat(_("not %1$s[[Branch Name]]"), branch_name);
e.g. "✔ not Branch".
