Hello,

I checked out lyx-devel today. Below please find an updated list of outstanding
errors. Some things have become better, some worse...

+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS+BUGS

Tables:

  - LyX crashes (!) if a protected blank is inserted at the beginning
    of a cell
  - When selecting text by doube-clicking the left mouse button,
    the cell content is displayed in the top left corner of the main
    lyx window!
  - It is impossible to select all cells of a column with the cursor
    keys (it works with the mouse)
  - Shift+Home and Shift+End do not work correctly
  - PageDown and PageUp do not work correctly when the cursor is
    at the beginning of a cell (not inside the red box)
  - the selection of text with
    Shift+CTRL+CursorLeftRight does not work correctly;
  - "find & replace" do not consider tabulars
  - it is not possible to mark more than one cell and
    to change, e.g., the font size inside all cells at once
  - Minor issue: Some repaintings are incorrect. Example:
    Insert a tabular into an algorithm float, then scroll through
    the document by using the left mouse and the vertical bar at the right
    of the main LyX window -> the red border of the algorithm float is
    partially erased (probably by repainting the table)

Character layout:

  - According to the dialog, the font size cannot be toggled;
    however, if you activate toggling for the properties above, the font
    size is toggled as well (in fact it toggles with the
    default size which doesn't make things any better)

Tool bar:

  - the "Font" button/"font-free" command does not conform to what
    the user specifies in the "Layout/Character" dialog concerning
    toggling/setting of properties.
    The "Font" button must behave identically to the "apply" button
    in the "character" dialog! This seems to be a real bug.
    In order to fully convince you, I would like to note
    that in practice (I am working very practically with LyX these days :-)),
    the current "font-free" implementation (which always toggles
    all properties) is quite unfortunate:
    Just imagine the case that you are not sure whether you have assigned
    a unique font size to a section and therefore you click on the "Font"
    button; afterwards you are as wise as before :-()

Layouts & Templates:

  - Foil headings (various kinds) are not added to a virtual "TOC"
    (needed for navigation)
  - A small typo in g-brief.de-Template ("freunlichen" ->"freundlichen")
                                                               ^
Compiling:

  - included libsigc++ cannot be compiled with Sun CC 6.0 (Allan, any ideas?);
    minor compile problems with LyX code (can be fixed easily)

Start screen:

  - The LyX logo stays on top and hides, e.g., the "open" dialog

Math mode:

  - The symbols for \land and \lor are not printed on screen

LaTeX Output:

  - A simple LaTeX preamble for passing information about title,
    subject and author to pdflatex is missing
  - What happened to the "LyX Code" problem (see my previous emails)?

Console output when compiling LyX with assertions:

  - "help, destroyme!"

Documentation:

  - the German translation does not reflect the new menu structure
    (the english reference manual also requires some refreshening)
  - remove a few outdated bugs in bugs.lyx
    (IMHO do not provide such a file at all; it is supposed to be
     out-of-sync before it is translated into German, French, etc.)
