I do not know if OSX needs such an update, but Linux does not. This is
one of the many ways in which Linux is not a piece of s**t.
Ehm, I don't know if upgrading to Qt 5.6.1 fixed bugs for LyX or not I
just did it. Microsoft would also not be responsible for bugs in the Qt
library. Note that Qt 5.6.1 fixed also some MacOS-specific bugs. That is
why I asked.
(The problems of the particular user was most probably one with LaTeX so
either new MiKTeX I bundled with the new installer fixed this or the
reinstallation.)
