Hold on, it does not look like that here. When I set depth 2 in outliner, open user guide and cruise down in document 'Keep' keeps expanded items expanded, and collapses them if 'Keep' is off. > I find that the (not-)keep option has no clear use, It has for me and actually as a default. Expanded entries have usually no use once I move to other part of document and don't want to see them. I use keep option when jumping between several parts of document in order to cherry-pick something or synhronize them etc. Maybe I did not get what's newly broken, quick chek on few days old master looked fine on first sight.
