  Here is a trivial patch that avoids the error. It might be better to
  actually compute the width using information returned by
  {{{InsetText::metrics}}}, but I am not sure this would be a real
  improvement.
Impressive. This solved my problem - both large and small content gets a 
nice box now. :-)
