and came up with the attached example. What is interesting to me is that the preview succeeds while compiling the document with pdfTeX (as well as ps2pdf or XeTeX or LuaTeX with TeX fonts) fails. I expected the preview to fail. Do we use the wrong encoding for the preview (and in this case it happens to succeed)? Scott
