I have made a new patch for #9507, which has to do with creating previews when they are turned on in preferences:

I don't believe it is a bug in the patch I propose, but even if it is due to a different bug, a crash is a crash. Does anyone really want #9507 fixed for 2.2.0 or can I retarget to 2.2.1? Scott
