Is anyone planning to work on this for 2.2.0? It doesn't seem like there
is even agreement on what to do.
One way of achieving this would be to write a text file to the temporary
directory for the given document. The text file has one line containing
the document name (without the .lyx extension) and a distinctive file
name like lyxjob.name. Latex files, when previewed, can look for
lyxjob.name and read it's content. (It's certainly simple to do this
with the expl3 macros of LaTeX3.) Thus when lyx_tmpbuf0 etc are created
they are not empty, as at present, but contain a one-line file lyxjob.name.
