Dear all,
I've started using branches recently and noticed this inconsistent
behavior of collapsed branch insets.
For (almost) the same underlying LaTeX content, in the attached .lyx
file you'll notice that when collapsed the inset label displays three
different strings:
- "asdf"
- "Branch: someBranch"
- "..."
Is this behavior intentional? I would expect in all of these cases for
"Branch: someBranch" label to be displayed, irrespective of inset
contents.
This is an issue for me because I have quite a number of collapsed
insets (for different branches!) that LyX uniformly and
uninformatively labels with "...".
Should I file a ticket on this?
I think we did decide some time ago that we wanted to give some indication of
the contents of collapsed branches, rather than just saying it's a branch. But
this clearly isn't working quite right.
Can we keep our cake and eat it too? What if we kept "Branch:
someBranch" at all times (differently formatted, or whatever),
followed by some of the inset's contents....
The problem with this is that it makes the labels too long.
