I did it first in the same way you do it in your patch. The problem
with it is that we should work towards making the code simpler and
more encapsulated and part of this is to have lyxtext know and do
less.
The problem with insetcaption is that it exists in a paragraph and
also contains a paragraph. the alignment of the inset depends on the
outer par, and the drawing of the caption on the inner par.
