The commit description might clear things up: C-M-a is bound to the global "select all". The reason for this change is that selecting an inset is a more common operation that selecting an entire document. For more discussion, see #7727. Basically, it allows you to easily select everything inside an inset or the entire inset, with your keyboard. I personally do this quit often (for copy/pasting, for deleting, for creating another nested inset, etc.). I think it is a pretty natural operation. However, I think that the concepts of "everything inside an inset" versus "the inset itself" is not completely intuitive to a new user. Scott
