I and others on lyx-users sometimes only respond to the list. I think this is common practice for many mailing lists. However, some users send questions to the list without signing up for it. In fact, it seems we encourage this: "To ask a question about LyX, simply email the question to the members of the list at lyx-us...@lists.lyx.org. You do not need to be a subscriber to send a question to the list." http://www.lyx.org/MailingLists
I'm not sure they know that they are expected to check a web interface to view the replies. Thus, I propose that we either (1) change the list to only accept messages from subscribers or (2) have a policy of CC'ing the user when responding on lyx-users. Thoughts? Scott
