Standard ubuntu install is no more able to produce pdf from math manual due to missing mathtools.sty. Not sure how much is this package exotic or it's just my install at my institute.
On my local ubuntu install it is OK, but I agree it needs to be put in dependencies.
This prompted my to look at Math.lyx and notice that all/most tabulars use \raisebox in ERT to produce proper spacing. Moreover, they use ugly plain tabulars that no book in prints would ever use.
Therefore I tried to see what happens if I just use a formal table (see attached). Is there a reason why we should keep the current form?
