I'm sure if we put an OK/Apply/Close(Cancel) block on the tabular-layout
there are a lot of people complaining that the former behaviour was better
and faster :). If other developers think we should do this and change this
behaviour then well we'll do it, but I really think we shouldn't.
The problem with the input field is that as the tabular layout does not
have a Ok button where the input applied, but is applied imediately after
the action this can only be handled correctly for width input fields with
a return-action. Imagine you want to change an entry of 10.5cm to 11cm and
we would apply it on every keypress we had to apply 10.cm (not valid entry)
10cm, 1cm and 11cm this is just stupid and also the cursor will move as
the field is read and written (we had this problem in older lyx versions)
so I decided that for the width input field just hitting enter after the
input is finished as action-key is not too much and surely is easy to
remember.
