Hello,
I'm one of the developers of LyX and I dropped by the bug tracking
system of Debian. This is being cc'ed to the lyx-devel mailing
list for additional comments. Following are some remarks on said bugs.
First thing, there is already a version 1.1.6.
The bugs can be found at the page: http://bugs.debian.org/lyx
Bug #40572
There is now pdflatex support in lyx 1.1.6, so this wishlist item can be
closed.
Bug #62359
LyX now has command line exporting of files with the command:
lyx --export <export_type> <filename>
This is also starting from 1.1.6, though it might exist with 1.1.5fix2
too.
Bug #61962
The CJK patch I believe is incompatible with the rest of lyx in the sense
that it replaces the usual language support with CJK only support, I might
be wrong though. Anyhow, there is a plan to move LyX to unicode support
and to have internal support for CJK languages. But this will need some
time to be worked on.
Bug #79133
This is a problem with the underlying LaTeX system, there are workarounds
in latex to overcome such things but for now the lyx developers decided to
leave the latex code clean and not to "fix" this, effectively this can be
labeled as "wontfix" (at least for now).
Bug #77989, #77894, #75926, #71134, #69396
"LyX dies on deadkeys" - this should be fixed in 1.1.6
Also, the suggestion to use xforms 0.88 or another version of xforms (very
late 0.89-x) might be in place.
Bug #76040
"protected blank and n in spanish text" - This is a known problem
resulting from problems with the spanish support for latex babel. This
hopefully will have a fix in 1.1.6fix1.
Bug #72110
"does not save keyboard dialog settings"
This menu entry has been removed from 1.1.6 and was merged into a complete
preferences dialog.
Bug #71194
This is a known problem with l10n, it was fixed in 1.1.5fix2. It should be
gone forever in 1.1.6
Bug #67072, #67075
This feature has been available since 1.1.5, and is surely available in
1.1.6.
Bug #67091
It is fixed in 1.1.6, anyhow the menus are dynamic and the user can change
the menus to his fitting.
Outdated bugs (Reported for ancient versions, most probably resolved by
now):
#72425, #66517, #53352
Should be closed bugs (They seem to be resolved and caused by user error):
#62873
