Have you considered to upgrade to Ghostscript 9.10?
If you do this, you need to update your path accordingly.
In fact I've updated to 64 bit 9.14 (so that Program Files (x86)\gs\gs9.05 in the path has become
Program Files\gs\gs9.14). Is there a reason to prefer 9.10?

They fixed some security issues.
However, looking at your post showed me a potential problem with GS of the installer that I will fix for the installer for LyX 2.1.0.

May I also thank (I presume) Juergen for the Alt+A 1, etc. shortcuts to custom inset arguments? I
don't recall them in beta2 but they are there in rc1. Good.

One question: you had LyX 2.1beta installed. Did you uninstall it before installing LYX 2.1RC1? If not, was it possible to install RC! over beta1/2?
(We forgot to say that this should be done.)

thanks and regards
Uwe

I've installed RC1 twice Uwe, the first time after uninstalling beta2. But when I tested my table sorting package tabsort3.sty (at http://wiki.lyx.org/Examples/SortingTablesInLyX) in rc1 it showed an error, so I uninstalled rc1 and re-installed beta2. In fact the error was a PEBKAC, since remedied, so I then re-installed rc1 but this time over beta2 (without uninstalling first), so I've installed rc1 both ways and on both occasions without problems.
