2.1beta2: cannot save as ....

Been beating on 2.1b2 for some time and now 1st bug.

Started a new file.  Then tried to save as.  Select a directory to browse,
then enter a file name.  When I try to save I got a message about
'cannot save file...'

But the file was saved fine.
