This may be a problem with Ubuntu's management of the TeX
installation. Did you use Ubuntu's Tex (via apt-get) or TeXLive's own
installation? In the former case, you probably need some additional
Ubuntu packages. Looks for something called tex-extra or perhaps
latex-extra (I am sorry I cannot be more precise, but I'm on Arch, not
on Ubuntu)
