Silly little point...
I think I'm right in saying that you have maintained backwards compatibility,
for lyx 1.1.6 will load 1.1.5 files. What you have broken is forwards
compatibility, for lyx 1.1.5 won't load 1.1.6 files.
At least, I think that's what th terms mean.
