I didn't find another solution until now. QFontMetricsF is not helpful, too. Did you possibly try the patch on Linux? The worst thing I can foresee is a resulting grid with quadrate dimensions instead of rectangular ones. I'd like to apply it with an additional FIXME. Ok? Stephan
