I don't like your proposal. It'd be a very heavy change. It must exist a better 
procedure to verify my theory.

E.g. you can change one place of the tutorial document. It's a file with Unix 
line endings ATM.

What happens after the Save by the LyX app running on Windows? What is the git 
diff after doing so?
What is the git diff after a simple change with a simple text editor capable to 
cope with a Unix text file?
