This make sense. Here is a proposed patch. Since I am not a
master/child user myself, I'd appreciate if somebody could tell me
what I forgot. What it does now is authorize also master view/update
when the current buffer has children. I think this capture the use
case of interest.
This looks right to me.
I think I did this, in effect, for myself, by using a command sequence.
But this is better.
