No (not without private changes, that is; of course you can still use the 
2.0.x layout, but then you're on your own).

I admit the new interface needs some settling. But once you are used to it, 
things should go as fast as before. You might want to read Help > Beamer 
Presentation, where I have given some hints on the new UI.

Note that the new UI was not a target in itself. I would have loved to 
maintain the old UI, but this was not possible (see below), so I tried to 
change as less as possible UI wise.

This is not the main reason for the change. The main reason was that the old 
UI was build on top of a complex, ugly hack (\lyxframe) that _nobody_ of us 
understood. Hence the layout was practically unmaintainable, and it was in 
fact unmaintained. Also, the hack resulted in many bugs and severe 
restrictions (the unability to specify a "fragile" frame was just the most 
prominent one), so we _had_ to get rid of it, and the UI change was a 
necessary consequence of this move.

Please report those cases. They need to be fixed (the lyx2lyx conversion is 
pretty complex too, so I really rely on testing and feedback, as stated many 
times before).
