No, I cannot compile either. I have the same problem with both.
Deleting the inset leads to no error in both. So I guess the
"Auflistung" double error is unrelated (since I don't get it with the
French user guide).
The problem is that there is a \selectlanguage around that paragraph. but it is correct there
because the paragraph is not translated. So if you reset the language of the whole paragraph, it
compiles, right?
I don't have any clue why this fails for you because this is correct LaTeX and I don't get even a
warning. Also nobody else complained about this yet.
Does anybody else have problems to compile the German UserGuide?
(If so I will translate the problematic paragraph and ask our French translator
to do so as well.)
