Hello LyX Devs,

Stefan Kottwitz of LaTeX-Community has suggested that
integration<http://latex-community.org/home/news/47-news-latex-editors/478-lyx-google-code>with
a cloud-based LaTeX compiling service would be a useful feature for
LyX users to have, so that a local installation of LaTeX need not be
necessary and to guarantee distribution consistency. I'm the co-founder of
SpanDeX <https://spandex.io>, and if this feature is attractive enough to
build, I wanted to offer our cooperation in exposing the rest of our
API<https://spandex.io/api/test-http-post>.
We support many popular compilers, and are adding support for more features
as we go along. I've also had this idea that we could expose some of our
other features, like version history, through the API and have it
implemented through an external editor. It's up to you, obviously, if
you're interested. If so feel free to email me directly. I'd love to chat
next week about the kinds of things you might be interested in.

Best,
Gregori Kanatzidis
