Thank you for your response.

I like to contribute it if I could. So if the mentors allow, I will keep
that in mind as a secondary goal and try to work on it if I get time. 

Is this bug already reported as a ticket? If so, could you please show me
the ticket? If not, can I report it by myself or shall I ask to do so from
someone else? 
I am really enthusiastic to contribute in developing a product like LyX
where wide range of the public can get the use of it as it is open source.
