I've found something that seems to me a bug in the External Material import
resource when loading a XFig figure into lyx.

My .fig figures reside inside a path that contains both spaces and accented
characters. When that's the case, instant preview is not able to create
the eps.
As soon as the doc is loaded into lyx, instant preview tries to process the
xfig file, but then the following error message appears in

/tmp/lyx_tmpdir.xxx/lyx_tmpbufx/0lyxpreview.log:

======================================

! LaTeX Error: File
`0_home_rudi_doc_UFRGS_Disciplinas_Gradua____o_F__sica_Mate
m__tica_II_Apostila_figs_Riley-f10-11.pstex_t' not found.

=======================================

The "___" bits contain both spaces and the accented letters.

With this error, all instant preview actions fail. Even the equations are
no longer rendered.

However, pdflatex or xelatex are still able to process and generate the
pdf. Only instant preview fails.

On the other hand, if I move all files to a regular directory (~/temp for
instance), everything works as supposed.

So, the problem lies in folders named with non-english characters.
