One think that you could probably try is to build the newer LyX with the same library used in the 1.6.10 version that worked well. Stephan, I guess that was a Carbon-based one?

I would not be surprised if the Qt version was the culprit. This does not means we should not use Cocoa, but that we have to understand what is different.
