I did not. Thank you for the tip. I'm starting to get a feel for these things now. This is in my lyx-log.txt after "ctest -R autotests/findadv-05" [lyx-log.txt] Setting debug level to find Debugging `find' (Find and replace mechanism) (process:23364): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library. Using the fallback 'C' locale. frontends/qt4/FindAndReplace.cpp (524): Selecting entire find buffer [/lyx-log.txt] I installed the package 'language-pack-it' which got rid of the locale warning but now I only have [lyx-log.txt] Setting debug level to find Debugging `find' (Find and replace mechanism) frontends/qt4/FindAndReplace.cpp (524): Selecting entire find buffer [/lyx-log.txt] I set the debug level to any but the pcregrep still fails. In fact in the 65K lines of code from '-dbg any' the string "Putting" does not exist. I put a 500 millisecond pause after every action but that did not change anything. Any ideas? Thanks, Scott
