I *think* that it is necessary to have this patch :

in 1.1.6 for LyX to work on very low-colour and mono displays. However,
I can't test it (can't find a mono machine, and none of the X servers here
can run Xnest with a mono visual).
So is there someone with a mono display (or a suitable visual + Xnest) who
can check this patch, and whether it does indeedd fix a real problem ?
Maybe it should just be applied anyway, as it can't harm the huge majority
of users ?
