Uwe, I agree with you that we need verbatim, but pushing a half-baked
implementation and ask other people to do it right is a bit rude :)
There was a reason why it has not been done yet. It may be that it just
works to play with catcodes in parser. But personally, I would need a
few calm days to be able to think about that and I do not have them now.
