My account name consists of non-latin letters. And every time I opened LyX the dialog "Document Class not Available" appeared. The reconfiguration failed. So I tried to reconfigure through command line (...\LyX20\Python\python.exe ...\LyX20\Resources\configure.py) and got the next error message:
File "...\LyX20\Resources\configure.py", line 114, in checkTeXPaths
longname = unicode(tmpfname)
UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xcd in position 3: ordinal not in
range(128)
Because of the application data folder for LyX is located in a user-profile folder the python script should check the system code page first.
