Hi

I have the feeling we are getting somewhere with the creation of the ppa for
LyX.

We will have at least two ppas - namely lyx-daily for daily builds of trunc
and 2.0.x and lyx-stable for stable releases (2.0.x and including 1.6.x).

I just want to clarify two points about the pas and debs:

I was thinking about the issue of co-existence of different LyX versions on
the same PC. at the moment, Lyx is LyX is LyX, unless self compiled with the
version prefix option.

I have two questions:

1) I think it is mandatory, that an installation of the daily build does
*not* interfere with an existing installation of any stable LyX and also use
a different config directory (e.g. .lyx-daily)
2) I think it would be useful to have the possibility to have LyX 1.6.x and
2.0.x in peaceful coexistence on the same machine without interfering, and
also use different .lyx directories?

This would mean that one can have four independant LyX installations on one
pc: the official one from ubuntu, 1.6.x, 2.0.x and daily.

Are there any objections to this naming / compilation for the ppas?

Cheers,
Rainer
