things i think might be interesting: * collapsing sections / tables * the other thing is maybe some order with the split screen behavior with multiple tabs: change the split from being a per document thing to a window thing, so that one could drag and drop several tabs between the split windows, either to move the tab or clone it and perhaps alter the closing behavior there so that a tab being closed in one split (having it open in another) doesn't really close the document and only removes the view. * an interesting feature could be language background temporarily set to certain colors per language, this might be interesting for documents which combine ltr, rtl languages as a "debug" feature for messed up text... - i wonder how often do other bd users encounter these? * another interesting but probably unlikely thing would be ___anonymous___ (sorry, can't stress it enough) usage stats: measuring the amount of paragraphs and words and such might be nice in general but addict to it some decent measurements of the amount of times certain menu shortcuts where used / bindings (including in sub menus) and features incorporated (with or without the language of the documents), number of non standard latex preambles / inserted code and such and maybe even the ability to count these items for older lyx documents could prove an invaluable in the process of a possible gui redesign! * recognizing the os-es language change, i'm not sure how it works for other languages but a common solution for english/hebrew switching is using f12, i always wonder why? ^_^* (i'm not sure that this is a good idea as it might get too crowded for a constant display but if the user controls the precision, i was wondering about it a while ago if it'd be a useful feature, if there were optional markings (where normally line numbers are, on the side of the document, the way eclipse marks warnings and errors, using colored marks) of contents: either major like: parts/ sections or smaller (which might be crowded) sections and images and such...? just throwing some ideas out here ;)
