That's good to hear. I have not used it for active deleopment yet, but just 
for fetching and building some code. I was in general irritated that I needed 
to continouosly issue some "rebase master" command after fetching before I 
could proceed building, something I didn't understand (conceptually) and which 
astonishingly often failed (with messages cryptic to me).

That's probably all due to my laziness, and I will certainly get more informed 
if we adopt git, but maybe I am (with regard to those projects, not to LyX) a 
good prototype of the "dumb user who just wants to try things out" which Pavel 
was referring to.
