Hi Richard and Other Developers, I was able to spend some additional time playing with the EndNote export code, and I am happy to report that I've got a working example. I'm not completely thrilled with it, but I've at least got a working example. The patch is attached.
There are still several things that need to be cleaned up: 1.) For multi-chapter documents, I need to keep track of where the counter is at and re-start the numbering at an appropriate location. 2.) After looking at some example documents, it would be good if the chapter name is printed before the list of endnotes. For example: Chapter 1. Note 1 Note 2 Note 3 Chapter 2. Note 1 Note 2 Note 3 ... 3.) I haven't done anything with LaTeX yet. I did provide a default command "theendnotes," but it is still undefined and causes errors if I don't add a command of the same name to the preamble. 4.) It would be good to think through how the inset should behave. While working I realized that a user may want to control how the footnotes/endnotes behave for each of their target document types. For example, because I use XHTML export to generate ePub, I want endnotes in XHTML. However, I want regular footnotes for PDF (which will be used for print). (I'm not sure if others are looking for that sort of fine-level control over their documents, though.) If you could take a look and provide any thoughts, it would be appreciated. Cheers, Rob
