That's a pity, since it means that automatic conversion will never happen for
Windows users (the directories I said above are the defaults).

It cannot be fixed in the installer, by the way, since of course that runs only
for one user (usually the admin user, rather than the one using LyX), so it
would have to be a change in the main program.
I would have thought it could be, since the installer can choose
whatever it wants for a user directory, can't it? It's the installer's
choice to use different ones like this. The installer might also choose
to copy your old data to the new folder, or to ask if you want it to do so.
I also don't see how this could be fixed in LyX itself. LyX doesn't know
what other user directories you might have. I have about six.
