My wild guess is that that pdfview thingie is using DDE commands for opening pdf files. As Adobe changed the servername in Reader X, it does not work anymore. LyX is not the only software which was broken. Have a look here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3562383 Anyway, I recommend using SumatraPDF on Windows as it also allows back and forward search from/to LyX documents. -- Enrico
