- Open a new file - Write something - Save (in my case on Desktop with filename newfile1.lyx and in the home directory with the name newfile2.lyx) - Write some more: LyX reports: "Document .../Desktop/newfile1.lyx has been externally modified. Are you sure you want to overwrite this file?" - Choose Overwrite - Save again. No problem. (so not a showstopper, but very annoying)
Latest Mac OSX, LyX 2 beta4. No related Console messages. Checked Trac, but couldn't find any open bug that fitted (searched for "externally modified") though a lot of reports of fixed similar errors existed. Would you like me to post a ticket. All the best! /Anders
