Hi all,

There's a somewhat lengthy message on the user list from a PhD candidate at Iowa
State University. The short version is that she managed to install LyX 1.6.8 on
a loaner laptop, but failed on her own laptop (both Windows). On the loaner,
she gets a very odd syntax error message while trying to run configure.py (the
alleged error being in a print statement that looks fine to me).

I swapped a few e-mails with her and eventually discovered that she has Python
3.1 installed. I suspect that might be the culprit but can't be sure. Has
anyone tested the various Python scripts against Python 3?

Cheers,
Paul
