Unfortunately, I don't have spare time at all - I've created this
installer because I badly needed LyX 2, but without its crashes :).
Additionally, I'm definitely going to leave the windows platform (or at
least I'm hoping to do so)...

I can't, since the server has its limitations. I fully understand
your concerns, but you can still rename it to something with
'UNOFFICIAL' in filename and add this warning as a textfile.
I'm only proposing this to give a chance to windows users to
actually test this release - not everyone is capable of compiling it on
its own, and feedback during beta phase is by definition very important
IMHO.
