Let me first repeat my thanks that we have continuous spell check at all, that outweighs anything else I have to say about this. I suggested this change in ticket #7081 (link below - I am "quietbritishjim"). I was asking to only do this only when you first type a word (there are a couple of interpretations of this, but the difference is pretty minor).
