Believe it or not, this actually affects me on Windows! My LyX files are in different directories, and I share a common child document between them (it contains my math macros), but I couldn't get LyX to work unless the child document was in the same directory so I used soft links to the original. I'm sure that not many other Windows users use soft links though, so this is really just a passing remark :-) True soft links on NTFS were only introduced in Windows 7, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're not supported by QFileInfo yet (I assume that's the type of filename()). If the patch goes in I'll test in the RC and file a bug with QT if not. Jim
