There is at least the benefit of having smaller functions, although I
agree that recursive calls should be clear. Can't you come up with a
solution that has only functions that fit within one screen and that
shows the recursiveness.
Yes, sure, that's the goal. I am splitting up TeXEnvironment right now.
But I want to go step by step with mechanical change so that the
regression will be easy to find (but I am sure there won't be any of
course :-)).
