Hello fellow LyXers,

I am very sorry if I am asking the question in the wrong mailing list
(please direct me elsewhere if it is the case).

The lyx-users list may be better than the lyx-devel list, when the question is about LyX usage rather than development.

When inserting a cross-reference, i get no spacing around it, i.e.
"Now returning to[eq:main], we see..."
instead of the way I would like it:
"Now returning to [eq:main] , we see...".

Can I make it a default in "dialog-show-new-inset ref"? How?

When you insert a cross-reference, it is inserted without spaces. This is necessary, because sometimes people need references without spacing.

For example, to produce something like "see chapters 2-9" using two cross-references instead of typing "2" and "9". When you need spaces, you can always type them just as you type spaces between words.

Fortunately for you, LyX ha configurable keybindings. So you can configure some key to insert "space+crossref+space" instead of only a cross reference. See the documentation on keybindings.
