one can easily reverse the whole logic. this issue was discussed several times on the list and but you didn't replied either... and nobody enjoys to repeat the discussions again. Vincent closed this issue as wontfix when instant preview code was in movement, Julien tried to switch to legacy mechanism, having showstopper with equations then. The related question and possibly general solution about affecting convertors route was postponed to 2.1 by Juergen. maybe there is some other bright solution, dunno. also dont know whether killing dvipng is harmless or introduce new regressions but it doesn't seem to be good idea in the middle of stabilizing period. pavel
