We can very well also write "Development version (LyX 2.0svn)" and "Stable version (LyX 1.6.9svn)" instead of "branch" and "trunk". We can grab the actual version from the inc files. BTW this is developer information anyway. Users want to know if the current release knows their language. For this, we'd need a tabe with the data of the current stable release (1.6.8, not 1.6.9svn).
