For long-term users yes, but not for new ones.
And so? I fail to see the argument here.
For new users ERT is a meaningless abbreviation, that is the argument. Moreover LyX users who began
with LyX 1.6.x cannot know this abbreviation because no menu item nor the documentation uses this
term. So ERT has been gone since 2 years. The 2 occurrences in the code I now corrected are the
inset label but as long as you don't change the inc-files you don't see a label for TeX code insets
in LyX 1.6.x.
I often got the question when introducing LyX to students and colleagues.
"ERT" is simply meaningless to them.
Yes, it is a good way to introduce the fact that using
it too often is a bad sign.
Producing questions is not a "good" way. The good way is to have it intuitive.
Average users don't even know what ERT stands for.
Because the doc does not mention it, maybe? :p
And because the menu entry names it also TeX code. So the term "ERT" is more or less dead and I'm
opposed to reintroduce it.
