Thanks. I'm waiting for a response too and have stopped coding on LyX.

Regarding the observation with spell checker marks and change tracking:
it's indeed the case that both lines - the dotted red line and the blue line - 
overlap.
I have not decided how to change it. 
(1) One of them has to get an offset.
(2) When marking changed text the spell checker mark could be restored to the 
old curly line.
