I used to have the "^" key on my keyboard configured as a dead key,
i.e. Have to press ^ and space to get the "^" character. This is useful
for
typing stuff like ô. Several other keys are configured dead too,
for easy typing of other accents/umlauts, like "äöé"

This works well in all the X11 programs I use, and reasonably well
on the linux console too. But lyx dies with a SIGSEGV whenever I
use this feature. Not when I type the dead key itself, but when I
type the character completing the sequence. (Such as the a when
creating a
ä, or the space when creating a "^") This affects 1.1.4fix3 and
1.1.5fix2

I have reconfigured my keyboard so the "^" isn't dead, so I can type
math
exponents again. But there is no way I can reserve keys for äëöô and so
on - there isn't so many keys, and I use these in applications
other than lyx too.

Is this a known problem with a fix? Or should I try to do
something myself?
I don't know how hard it is to fix, but a lyx that don't die
from a unexpected key would be nice. Having the key perform
correctly would be even better of course.
